Darebin Creek Management Committee, Friends of Darebin Creek and the Merri Creek Management Committee are holding a community planting and cultural connections event on Sunday July 11th.
The day will involve a range of community activities, including a Welcome to Country from a Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Elder, water bug discovery, we’ll use indigenous grasses and wool to make our own iuk, and tree planting for habitat. Plantings are particularly for small woodland birds as part of establishing a biodiversity corridor in the stretch of Darebin Creek from Nangak Tamboree near Plenty Road to Bundoora Park.
Please note that we are monitoring the situation with Covid restrictions and the event may be subject to limitations or cancellation. We will endeavour to provide a Covid safe event and will provide notice of any changes.
