Join City of Whittlesea, DCMC and the Reach 4 group of Friends of Darebin Creek for a National Tree Day planting event at Norris Bank Reserve in Bundoora. This will be a significant and festive day of planting and community connection.
Events planned for the day include:
- Wurundjeri: Welcome to Country and Smoking ceremony from 12 – 12.30
- Native Planting along the Darebin Creek with the FODC Reach 4 group and DCMC.
- Registration and Badge making
- Merri Creek Management Committee
- DELWP Stall (Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning)
- Butterfly kidz: Live Butterfly enclosure!
- Chris Humfrey, Wild Action Zoo: bringing native Australian animals on the day and talking about them to the audience. From approximately 1pm.
- Eco Explorers: Child friendly activities.
- Coffee Van
- Scouts BBQ
- Damper making (Scouts)
- Live music
- Create your own natural confetti with eucalyptus leaves!
- Native plants for sale
- DYA Australia: Creative art workshop
- Bubbles and face painting
- Mini Beasts area: analysing water samples and the macro-invertebrates from the Darebin Creek.
